Direct Lobbying
What is Direct Lobbying?
Direct Lobbying is the method used by lobbyists to influence United States legislative bodies through direct communication with members or employees of the legislative body or government official who participates in formulating legislation.
A few critical tasks govern the lobbyist body that must be taken care of to achieve the objective. Even though lobbying strategies and techniques may differ, these tasks’ results are the same.
Direct lobbying typically involves the following:
- Making personal contact with key legislators.
- Giving expertise and research results.
- Providing assistance and legal advice.
Direct lobbying is about more than influencing legislators. Lobbyists have the responsibility of the process and guide key officials through it.
Legislators are more than just votes on an electronic scoreboard.
We know them. We know their career history, hobbies, sports teams, families, and pet peeves. Sanborn Williams cares about the relationships and even friendships – that we’ve built with lawmakers.
